It is paradoxical that progress in Technology and Medicine has often been the culprits in the soaring healthcare costs blame-game, typical of many contemporary health systems. Yet, we depend on such progress to improve healthcare delivery, prevent diseases, and save lives, all of which it indisputably also does. The issue then is how we could make it do one, the latter, and not the other, the former. This is more so as no country could afford to spending increasing percentages of its gross domestic product (GDP), as is currently the case with many, on health services, yet, could any ignore the immense benefits to the health of its peoples of medical and technological progress.
